The AWIS Georgia Chapter is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that champions the interests of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) across all disciplines, socio-economic strata, and occupational focus. We exist to:
(1) encourage the interest and active participation of women from under-represented racial and ethnic groups, particularly African Americans, Asian Americans, Latinos, Hispanics, Pacific Islanders, and Native Americans;
(2) acknowledge and support women with differences in family status, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, and physical abilities;
(3) embed diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts into day-to-day member service; and
(4) work strategically to engage the male majority population.
